Alvernia F.C. Convent, Kannady began as an off shoot of St. Antony's F.C. Convent Kannady (Paduva) in Alappuzha district on 19 September 1973, to serve in the existing U.P. School and nursery. Owing to the inadequate transportation facilities, the province was compelled to begin this convent near the school. Their main apostolate is teaching and parish work.
