At the request of the parishioners and the parish priest, the Karuvatta convent was started on 28 May 1964. Karuvatta is a remote interior village in the Alappuzha district. The house was started with the view of promoting spiritual values of the villagers and strengthen their faith in God. Now the sisters work in the L. P. School there and run the nursery school in addition to the pastoral works like house visits, Sunday school, animation programmes etc.
