St. Joseph's Clarist Convent, Kurumpanadom in the district of Kottayam took its birth on  May10, 1930. The sisters co-operate with the parish priest in leading the flock in their spiritual growth. The sisters engaged in the apostolate of teaching not only look into the educational and spiritual needs of the children, but also give them life guidance, through their English Medium L.P. School and St. Peter's HSS of the parish. In 1998, a balika bhavan was established to help the economically poor girl students and those who have lost their parents, to give them education and spiritual formation.
